There are three levels of membership of Co. Waterford Beekeepers’ Association.  Application for membership can be made to the Secretary.  The Committee shall have the full authority to refuse any application or membership.

• Full membership of the Association is confined to active beekeepers and includes The Irish Beekeepers’ Association Third Party Insurance.
• Associate membership is open to fully paid up members of other Irish Beekeepers’ Associations and those who do not wish to avail of Co. WBKA  Insurance.
• Honorary Life Membership shall be conferred on members who have rendered outstanding service to the Association.  Not more than 3 members shall be so honoured at any one time.

The Annual Membership Fee is fixed and approved at the Annual General Meeting.  This fee should be paid to the Treasurer on or before 1st December of each year.

No new rule and no alteration to an existing rule shall be made except at an AGM or at an Extraordinary General Meeting called for that purpose.  Notice of Intention to propose the making of or altering such article or articles shall in either case be delivered to the Hon. Secretary in writing at least 28 days before the holding of the EGM.  Such notice shall contain the terms of the new article or articles or alteration sought to be made and shall be forwarded to each member of the Association at least 7 days before the holding of such a meeting by ordinary post.  No rule shall be made or altered at any of the said meetings without a two-thirds majority of those present.

The Committee shall have the power to summon an Extraordinary General Meeting on giving at least fourteen days’ notice by ordinary post, to members giving the details of the subject to be discussed.  The Committee shall convene an EGM on foot of a request for such a meeting signed by at least 12 members.  Such an EGM will be convened within 30 days of receipt of such a signed request.  Discussion at such meeting shall be confined to that subject alone.
